The Raw Beauty of Brora
If you’re heading up the coast, Brora Golf Club is a must. This 1924 James Braid-designed links sits along the North Sea with stunning views and a classic out-and-back layout. Sheep and Highland cows roam the course, kept off greens by electric fences—adding quirky charm. Just over 6,200 yards, it’s not long, but wind and smart bunkering make it tough. The short par-3 13th, “Snake,” with a burn in front, is especially memorable. Only 20 minutes from Royal Dornoch, it’s one of the most authentic and enjoyable rounds in the Highlands.
